New Plant Mama

My Japanese maple’s leaves are browning at the base. I’m not sure what’s causing this and I’m wondering if I need to repot it? Or if I need to water more? I follow planta’s plan but it’s been hotter here recently.

It is highly possible it needs more water if you keep it outside currently, I have tried caring for a japanese maple following planta’s schedule and it didn’t turn out well. I would just keep in mind with this hot weather that fungal diseases and pests trynna get on the tree are gonna be more common due to high humidity and temperatures too.
