I'm fairly new to this whole plant lady thing, and I was wondering if there's a certain "height" that plants need to be at within their pots. I have this Petra plant and I repotted it in a nice terracotta pot my dad gave me. Problem is, the plant itself lies about three inches below the top of the pot. Is this a problem? It seems to be doing just fine so far, I've had it for two months and r seems pretty happy.

As long as the parts in the pot are not too far from the sun, then it’s perfectly fine! And you don’t want the soil to be level with the pot or water will run over the edge and make a mess. So it’s not like a rule or anything, but a good 1/2-2 inches from the top of the pot is a good range :)

How do you care for your croton? I just got one and I’ve heard there difficult to keep happy. How often do you water yours?

You’ll want to keep the soil a bit damp (not soaked) and they look a good amount of humidity. I usually wAter about once a week. Mine has struggled with spider mites for years, so keep an eye out for them..

Honestly, I just follow what Planta says unless the soil is still damp. I also have a spray bottle and mist the leaves with it
