Hey all! I have a cat, so I’ve always made sure to buy non toxic plants when I know they’ll be in his reach. He’s never shown any interest at all so I finally got a plant I’ve wanted for a long time, a monstera! Like clockwork, as soon as I bring it home he won’t stop messing with it, and trying to bite the leaves. It’s bigger and I’m not able to move it out of his reach. Any cat owners have advice on how to keep him away from it?

You can try putting coffee ground in the soil but that might not help with the leaves. You could try putting something spiky or sticky around it so he wont go near it

Oh no, I’m glad my cat doesn’t play with my plants. Maybe it’s cause she’s so old. She’s still energetic but she doesn’t play with every single thing in the house like my mom’s kitten does. Anyways, the first thing that came to my mind is a motion activated air can. My grandma uses them to keep her cat off the counter. I’m thinking maybe you could put one in your monstera pot if it’s big. It’s just a harmless puff of air but it’s a good deterrent for most cats

I’m joking obviously. I would never. But if you think about it for a while it sounds like a good idea…
