I repotted this a couple weeks ago and it’s just not doing good at all. It needed better draining soil so I put it in cactus soil and it’s in a self watering pot (the type that has a string/rope in the outer pot of water leading to the bottom of the soil. I know it needs more sun probably but it’s right next to a double door/window inside my kitchen. That’s really the only place I have for it. I don’t have window sill to put it in and I don’t want it outside because it got infested with gnats last time which is why I repotted also. He won’t stand up at all and before I repotted it stood up fine. Is my succulent dead or doomed? What can I do to get it healthy again or is that even possible? I’m new to succulents obviously. Thank u for any tips or advice in advance!!

Succulents don’t require as much water, I would move it to a regular pot with good drainage. You could buy a small grow light if it needs more light.

I’ve been contemplating a grow light. I might have too. Thank u. I’ll repot him tonight, I don’t know what I was thinking.

The self watering pot will keep your succulent moist at all times and that is a big mistake. Succulents need to be completely dry for a while. If you can, move it into a terracota pot and it will do much better. You mentioned a well draining mix, that’s good 👍 I do 1/2 soil 1/2 draining material (pumice stone) for my succulents. I water 1 time a week, fertilizing once a month during warm months

I would also chop and propagate the stems, as they are very etiolated.

Can u tell me how to do that? Or what should I look up to do this correctly? I tried to propagate the steps I lost on the first repot but they didn’t end up doing anything. I do have rooting powder, should I try that? I will definitely repot again tonight. I wasn’t thinking about how it will always keep the soil wet and succulents definitely don’t need that. Thank u!!
