Did you know that hamsters can eat spider plants? It’s great enrichment for them. You can either give them the whole plant or make a salad for them with the leaves included! Just remember to cut off any flowers and babies the the plant produces because they are toxic for your little furry friend!

spider plants do contain some toxins… chemical compounds that can cause hallucinations and gastric upset. please be careful letting your pets eat your plants

I monitor how much he ingests. Too much of the spider plant could be bad but small amounts in moderation are just fine. Others who also own hamsters recommend spider plants as well. If you properly monitor your hamster, then these plants can be a great source of enrichment and will also help filter the air in your hamster’s enclosure.

glad you are aware of the dangers but plants do nothing for the air quality on a small scale. you would need a thousand plants in a 10x10 foot area to make an impact. consider purchasing an air purifier if you’re concerned about the air quality in your home

Already have an air purifier in place for the little guy😌! I’m sorry I guess I worded it wrong but in my personal experience, the plant helps dilute the smell because hamsters can be a little stinky sometimes 😅

What a sweet little baby! This is just too cute. What breed of hamster? I think I’m in love. Also I need to know it’s name 😻

The species is a winter white dwarf hamster also known as a Russian dwarf hamster. And his name is Sushi because he loves to eat sushi rice 🍣! If you are thinking about getting one of these furry little guys then I would definitely suggest doing some research for their specific needs. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them!
