Just got my first plants ever! Hoping to hear stories about things that you wish you had known when you first started caring for plants :) Blessings y’all!

Plants will die. Give yourself the space and grace to learn from your mistakes. This should be a relaxing pastime, not a stressful one.

I LOVE this advice! I’m attempting to be zen about my plant murdering tendencies. If it dies, it’s back to the earth for sustenance. (I toss them behind a bush in my apartment complex and hope one reinvents itself). They haven’t yet, but I’m rooting for them. Get it? Rooting for them. I’ll see myself out.

Yes! And not every plant is meant for your space or your care commitments.

Systemic insecticide. It’s important.

Drainage is key! If you have to, put the plant in a nursery pot so you can still put it in a pretty decorative pot. ❤️

I agree with what everyone else said! Waterering, fertilizing, and soil type were my biggest realizations!
