ey tellie! i got this same kind back in march! because alocasias have been tricky for me, i tried something new: i rinsed the roots clean and put it in some nutrient water, then switched it to leca in april a month later. since then itās been thriving and has given me a few new leaves. i found a corm in the roots when i removed the soil, put that in water until it grew water roots and then switched it to leca as well. itās been pushing new growth too! mine loves leca & itās been so much easier to take care of, so thatās my tip šš¾

I know these velvets like humidity like any other alocasia. Donāt dry soil out completely the leaves will curl in as a indicator that its thirsty as for soil a chunky aroid mix will do

That was how it was when I got it. Watered her instantly. Iām looking for a good pot for her.

Keep the soil evenly moist. For me, that means I water it when itās about half dry. I end up watering every 4 days or so.
