Any tips on how to care for a Gasteria flow. I bought mine from Lowe’s and was told to water it any time it gets squishy. Is this correct? Also there is discoloration toward the bottom of the plant but I don’t think it’s rotted is this normal

Honestly I would highly recommend looking up and making a care sheet for your plants. Its the best way to learn about that plant, for example yes in some plants that’s one way to measure if it needs water but in plants like lithops that’s incorrect. So to know for sure I would look it up and make a spreadsheet.

Looks pretty good. I water mine when the soil is totally dry. Mine doesn’t get squishy leaves, so that’s probably not a good indicator. The watering schedule planta gives me works pretty well. I water slightly more often than planta says because mine is in a VERY draining soil with lots of sand and pebbles

If you have doubts, I would for sure put it in Planta just for watering reminders. I too have mine in a mix of lava, pumice and other fast draining soil, but this is a pic of when I had it in pretty much dirt - with no drainage hole in the pot.
