Any idea what this is growing on my Chinese evergreen? Is it a flower? First time owner ☺️

It’s a “flower”. Mine had like 6 of them but I decided to cut all of them to promote more growth towards the leaves. It also attracted ants for some reasons considering my plant is outside in a pot. But I’m not sure how it will do inside so far from the pic it’s looking great.

Did you cut them from the base or just the flower?

I cut them from the base. But keep in mind I’m fairly new to this plant addiction. I currently have 23 plants. Only one died on me (pink princess philodendron) but I blame Lowe’s for that one lol. So take my advice with a grain of salt. With my experience with Chinese evergreen. They like to grow freshly new stems instead of a leaf out of an old stem.

Yes - I cut mine off to. You’d rather have energy toward leaf production in most cases. If you like it, leave it. They’ll don’t stay around for long

I let mine bloom then cut it when it died.
