I need to get my plants on a once weekly watering schedule. I spend a lot of time almost every morning checking on them and I really enjoy it but my work schedule is changing. The Planta schedule has been a bit awkward for me. What kind of schedule do you guys set up so that you can have one watering day a week?

I use this app as more of a guide. The plants will ultimately tell you when they’re thirsty. Look for crinkled leaves, drooping leaves. I also will lift the pots up to see how heavy they are. You can use a moisture meter or soil probe or even self-watering pots.

100% the planta app tells me to water too often but I haven’t yet set up custom watering schedules. It can be difficult at first to know when your plants need water.

I end up watering most plants on the weekend but a few need it during the week :)

Aw yeah that’s understandable especially with work. I think it’s hard to keep indoor plants on a “schedule”. Some will always require water more frequently than others. I have 2 African Violets. I got them the same day and for a while they were on the same water schedule. Then one day my purple flowered one didn’t need any care for almost 2 weeks when my pink one was completely dry after 1 week. I’m interested to see how others manage their plant schedules.

I have no plants except a purple tradescantia that can go one week without watering. Because it keeps lots of moisture in its stems, gets dew from my deck cover and has tapped roots into every pot too close to it! I’ve had it many years.

I spend way too much time daily checking soil and watering plants because I have more than I can handle but also no self control. I know people that have hundreds of plants and they put the plants that have a he same watering schedule and needs in the same area and have less watering days. Self watering planters may be helpful for you too
