you can also use pumice or pea gravel to help keep them at bay. fungus gnats only lay their eggs in moist soil

I suggest small pea gravel on top but not before you spray the soil with neem oil 😊 I’ve battled fungal gnats since starting my journey with indoor plants several years ago. The first year I was so mortified I put all my plants outside and most of them died. Then I did some research. They love moist soil. There’s also cute stickers you can stick straight up in your soil and they fly to it and get stuck. I’d start by doing all three above and go from there. After that, any new plant you bring home should be treated immediately and isolated for a couple weeks to prevent spreading 😊 Then maintenance with neem oil spray once a month or just when your heart remembers ❤️

cinnamon is amazing sprinkle it on top of the soil and when you water add a bit more and the fungus gnats will say goodbye (it’s also good for plants)
