Hey, I have this phyllostachya plant, which has always been so healthy and is flowering constantly, but all advice I’ve found online says to chop it when it gets tall. This is the first one I’ve had and I’ve cut off some of its height, but I quite like it tall. Does anyone have any advice on if this will make it unhealthy or is it just for aesthetic reasons people usually cut it! Thanks!!

I let mine get tall too. When it comes to height for plants, as long as they don’t get leggy, I let them grow how they want. I named her Jackie after Jack and the beanstalk cause it gives those vibes 🤣 cutting it back might encourage more bushy growth. Kind of like how an arrowhead is bushy, but when it matures, it’ll start to climb.
