So I’ve had this little Aloe plant for 3 years and it started out as a little baby, and now it’s huge and thriving. I’ve already picked 3 baby ones off it and they are now growing. But I have to put little stakes in the dirt around it to hold it up to it will fall over because it’s so top heavy. Can I cut off the top and replant it? Or Will that kill the whole plant?

You can cut and let the cut end dry for a day or two. Then dip in rooting powder and stick it in the pot. The main plant will regrow a new top.

My lace aloe has had 3 lives due to this. In its second life, I didn’t realize the roots had completely rotted off because I was using a peaty potting soil and not giving it enough direct light. To start its third life, I did exactly what you’re wanting to do. I cut off the top of the plant with only a few leaves, put it in succulent soil and the sunniest location I could. It’s flowered and produced pups ever since. These plants are very prolific as long as they’re not overwatered, which is easy to do.
