Does anyone else move their plants around constantly? I have a lot easy Plants so they don’t seem to mind. But I’m constantly moving them. If their leaves start to look a little rough I check their soil and if it’s not dry I put it in a sunnier spot. My plant stand had an order on it when I set it up but it’s changed so much since I got it.

Mine are nomads. They spend most of the year on the North facing covered patio since I live in steamy Zone 9. The temperature sensitive ones move in after Thanksgiving. All of them move in about a week during hard freezes in winter. Of course, the hitchhiker lizards are stowaways. Surprisingly, they run out when I move the plants outside again. Starvation does that to a lizard!

I do move plants around occasionally. Since plants are constantly growing and changing, sometimes they outgrow the spot they were in, or need more light, or one gets moved outside making a better spot available for something else. Or sometimes i just get tired of the way i’ve arranged them. Which is interesting since I’m typically not a change kinda person… once i have the perfect arrangement in my furniture & decor I tend to keep it that way indefinitely. I guess thats where the term “the constant gardner” came from! 🌿

Can you come arrange my house so I don’t keep tweaking the living room book shelf placement?

I move my medium and low light plants around so they can have some sun time. I also move my plants to the sink when i water and out on my deck for a few hours in the morning or early evening when they can get some sun and breeze without being scorched.

I have been really obsessive about this, probably to a fault. I moved recently (400th time I will mention that) and didn’t have the energy or time to get obsessive. I found my plants had all grown when left in one spot - regardless of where they had been hurriedly placed. Really common sense, and the lesson for me was “let them figure it out and tell you if they wanna move.” Unless they are in some kind of danger, I’m trying to keep them where they are.

It really depends on your climate in your room to be honest it’s natural to recreate a day night cycle in plants so if that involves moving it’s ok! The problem is typically if the climate is changing to much like say you go from 60-90 that is what typically shocks the plant but if all your measurements stay within a 15-20 range you should typically be fine some plants are finicky those are the ones that if they are that sensitive I would come up with a more permanent solution like a grow light and humidifier.

I have mine in my room so they are constantly moving from being in my window to storage and back to the window some plants are sensitive , but my climate in my room doesn’t fluctuate to much so they typically don’t mind it’s the lighting that is a problem for me haha.
