Hey planta- any help ID-ing this baby? Got it as a teeny tiny thing and have no idea what it was. This is about 2 yr old, the leaves vary from long and skinny to short and chonky. Some guesses: Devil’s backbone? Some kind of crassula? Something about fingers? Some kind of cotyledon?

High possibility but I can’t find any varieties that look like my baby. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

it looks like a very wonky crassula ovata, i’ve never seen one grow so many different kinds of leaves though

no, it’s actually meant to grow like that it’s an ogre ear jade

I agree- crassula is likely. But I’m pretty confident it’s not ovata. Any other ideas?

      c. ovata is an incredibly variable species, and in doing some research around this morning i found out that the ā€œhobbit jadeā€ is an even more variable crassula ovata variety, so i do think it is just a very funky crassula ovata ā€˜hobbit’, seems like you got lucky and got one with lots of personality in its genes 😊

Thank you for the suggestion! The leaves don’t round in on themselves like an ogre ear does tho- they stay very flat. I think crassula family is a solid possibility but I haven’t ever found a variety that has leaves like this one tho. Any other ideas?
