Oh wow that happened to my moth orchid. So far this is what I did so I would do the same for your friend. She’s been blooming since Mother’s Day so I never reported her from the store. Then I just said whatever I’m going to repot her even with the blooms. I ended up having to cut off most of her roots 🥺 I put her in water because I heard someone say the water has oxygen. I also added some root propagator to the water and I see new bumps so hopefully she will grow new roots. She’s still green and blooming 😬

Thank you so much
2 LikesActually!! I just looked up some stuff on aloe specifically and a lot says to just put it back in soil. So now I’m not so sure 😖 I don’t want to tell you the wrong thing and it doesn’t work so maybe google aloe with no roots it’s what I just did

i would make sure if you do put it back in soil, that its a well draining, succulent cactus soil :)

Would raised bed soil work?
1 LikeI rehabbed an aloe for my boss with this problem! I started with chopping the leaves that are bent up or not doing so good (rot, ect) then I chopped the base where it was pretty rotted till I had like 3 little roots left and sterilized the root and knife as I go with alcohol. Then I just popped that little plant back in some regular potting soil and left it in my bedroom on my desk to keep an eye on it
