My rubber plant has mold growing on top of the soil. I plan to ditch the soil, rinse the roots, and purchase a new pot. Any other suggestions as to what I should do?

I would make sure the new soil is super chunky and airy and giving it more sun!

Do you have a type of soil recommendation?

Is it white? Because that is natural and not a problem. If it’s black, do change soil. The pot you could just disinfect with hydrogen peroxide

You can remove the top layer of the soil, or just mix it in. You can also spry the soil with 3% hydrogen peroxide if you like. But it is going to go away on it’s own. Just cut back a little on watering. It happens when the soil is wet for too long.
