Update on the spider plant: i think he’s getting worse :(. Is it due to too much light? I moved him in a place where there’s almost no light, but I’ve only had him there for a week. Should I pluck the dead leaves? Please give tips! In the middle of him he looks good, but it’s his outside leaves that need help

He might be overwatered. If the pot doesn’t have drainage then try to keep it out and on a tray if possible. If that doesn’t work then I’m it might be the light

Yes, pluck the dead leaves and take (alcohol cleaned) scissors and trim back leaves that are severely damaged. Some leaves with mild damage at tips are fine because they can still help the plant. The main area/crown of your plant looks pretty healthy. Move her to a place with indirect light. It probably started with a watering problem. Does the pot have good drainage? They like to stay watered but too much water doesn’t let roots take in air. If drainage has been bad or if she has been soggy for long periods you might need to check for rotted roots and replant her after trimming away dead roots.

Okay thank you! My pot had drainage, but you have to dump out the drained water which I always forget to do. I will fix it, and I’ll check the roots!

This looks like root rot to me. I would check the roots.

It looks like it might need a smaller pot. All that soil that the roots haven’t reached is just gonna stay wet and is probably what’s causing these issues. Also, rotting soil does not smell good!

I think the pot is good enough size! I just took a look at his roots and they are long and happy. The soil smells fine, and the soil is ALWAYS wet. I’m pretty sure the reason he’s like this is because of poor drainage and too much sun!

If the brown leaves are crunchy and easy breakable, it’s probably underwatered, mine had the same problem. If they’re too flexible, then it’s probably overwatered
