Hey hey planty people ๐Ÿ’š I need some tips/care advice. I just got a small Variegated Maranta and have another bigger one coming in the mail this week. It is my very first time trying a Maranta so I am truly clueless about how to care for them. I have been binge-watching videos about them and have learnt that they want medium indirect light which is so hard for me to assess what that means? Lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have my plants in my living room which has a big East facing window which does get a lot of direct light in the mornings. I initially thought about placing it as seen on the left picture which is a TV console table about 7 ft away from the window. It does get some direct-ish sun rays (as you can probably see) in the mornings but Idk if it is too little light. Then I thought about placing it about 1-2 feet below my T5 Barrina lights in one of my shelves (see right picture). But again, I donโ€™t know if that is too little light. I want to keep this plant healthy and also keep the variegation consistent ๐Ÿฉท If anyone can offer some guidance, I would really appreciate it ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

This looks okay to me! But really watch the leaves to tell you. Little scorch pinholes throughout the leaf or on the edges and it means itโ€™s too much. If the pigment in the leaves start to darken or fade, too little light. Calatheas are a little bratty, but youโ€™ll find the balance!

Thank you! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป So either of these two set ups look good?

Try the left one first because less light is less harmful than too much and I believe if it isnโ€™t enough, the second seems to be ok! But keep checking leaves lol
