This is our Cat Palm, Paul. He’s been outside for the summer and doing super well! A couple of new shoots! I was curious as to if/when to repot one of these. I noticed a root popped out of the soil.

    Yes. It does look rootbound. If it’s a parlor palm Planta recommends planting once a year —so they must tolerate it well

    Well I guess to be sure. Look at bottom and check for roots coming out. Another way to recognize is that the roots will be wrapping around the plant on the outer edges against the inside of the pot
