Just reports this monstera into this 8” terracotta pot. Is it too deep? Will this stress the plant out?

I’m sure it will grow quickly enough to fill in the pot :) was it quite rootbound? Monsteras don’t particularly mind being rootbound so in the future you can leave them in their pots a little past when you would move other plants their size.

How big was the rootball? Just be careful how often you water. Make sure to let it dry out between waterings otherwise the roots will rot. If you check the soil after a week and it still feels wet/damp deep in the pot then it’s likely you have too much soil for the amount of roots the plant has. I’ve made mistakes in the past going to big with my pots…

It wasn’t huge. There were only a few large roots at the bottom. Thank you for the tip. I’ll get a moisture meter

How long does it take from a starter plant size to get a monstera to this size?

They grow surprisingly quickly. 1-2 feet per year. From a true starter plant (grown from seed) it would take a little over a year depending on soil conditions, light, temperature and humidity.

Mine was already this big when I got it from the nursery, thankfully. I’ve had it about a week and haven’t seen much new growth yet.

I’m feeling reeeeeally tempted to find large one, but it could be fun to grow it from a baby! Anyway, I love it. Congrats 🍾 lol
