This is a Fukien Bonsai Tree. It’s been loosing leaves, but it’s still growing new leaves. Is there something wrong with it or is it normal for it to be loosing leaves. The first picture is of the front of it. The second picture is of the back of it.

A lot of bonsai are meant to be kept outdoors, the only time I bring my Chinese Elm and Juniper in is when it’s freezing temps for more than 24 hours. This looks a lot like my Elm. Have you researched your variety to see if it should be outside? I’ve read a bunch on mine as well and water it daily with it being in fast draining soil … good luck!

I guess your variety is very different from mine! I would make sure the light it’s getting is the right kind, and that it’s getting enough water ☺️

Thank you, I have it under a plant light. I have noticed that the soil in mine dries really fast. The app wants me to water it once a week though. When I test the soil the day after I water it, it’s already dry, even all the way at the bottom. I’ve watered it early a few times but I’m scared to water it too frequently. Do you think it needs water more than once a week?

I think so, all my bonsai books say to water mine once daily… many try a few times a week and go from there
