For anyone who would be interested: most of my plants seem to like well draining soil. So what I did, since I found several suggestions on what to use, I got 8 oz bags of the following: cactus mix, orchid mix, seed starting soil and perlite. I then grabbed one of the re-useable grocery bags that I had and dumped them all in and mixed it up. I use it for all my plants and they seem to really be happy in it. Oh, and don’t forget the top off of pebbles to help keep the gnats away. I have to admit, I’m rather proud of my research and what I’ve accomplished so far in a short time (1-2 months).

Amazing! The pebbles on top is a great idea. I use probably the same ingredients but I just buy the components separately. So I use Orchid Bark, Pumice, Perlite, Charcoal, Coco Coir, Earthworm Castings and use different variations for all of my aroids. They’ve been thriving :)
