What’s a plant you struggle with? Mine is my Alocasia Watsoniana. I got this diva girl about 4 months ago and her roots rotted twice - once in pon and once in soil. Then it got to a stump, I tried to re-root it again in fluval and it just decided to fully unalive itself 😢 Somehow I still want to get another one and try again but my common sense is telling me I shouldn’t cause these gals are not the cheapest 😆 Anyways, what’s your diva plant?

Mine is Moneypenny the money tree. I bought her for my husband for his birthday 10 years ago and he promptly panicked and said he wasn’t cut out for taking care of A Living Thing. She was about four inches tall. Over the years, she grew to about five feet. Easiest plant ever—and also our only one at the time because we were relocating frequently for my hubby’s job. When we finally settled down, I figured she needed a bigger pot and fresh soil, but she was a bit too big for me to handle. (This was before I became a fervent plant parent 8 months ago). So I had her repotted by a local garden center. First she did great. Then she started turning yellow and dropping leaves. I eventually took her out of the pot, found out it had a layer of clay in it that wasn’t letting the water out, and her roots were almost gone. 😶 And so began the ongoing rescue of Miss Moneypenny. I took care of her roots, pruned her back, put her under a grow lamp, and assured my very superstitious hubby nothing bad was going to happen to The Plant. We’re now seven months in. Every time I think we’re getting somewhere because she’s sprouting new branches, she starts to drop a leaf. Right now she’s four very thin stalks of about three feet tall with a tiny little bit of foliage at the top. Everyone else is thriving. I just don’t know with this lady if she needs more time or has had a good run. But I’m not giving up the good fight! 🗡️

Omg!! Mine is probably definitely my ferns. I got a birds nest fern that was already root rotted from an ACE, i tried to save her and couldn’t so i got one from etsy and shes doing fine i think? (Emphasis on ????) I got a fluffy ruffle from walmart, trimmed her back because she was sooo dry, crispy, and uggo. I work from home so she is watered correctly AND misted often but i cant seem to make her happy. She isn’t dead but its kinda almost worse that she just sits in my face complaining all day😭

I know the feeling!!! I have a friend who throws dying plants at me, and then expects me to save them! She gave me a fern with 5 fronds, 3 crispy and 2 barely making it 😭. Luckily it’s thriving, being one of the few that I actually managed to rescue from my friend 😅

Do you think it could be that my soil is holding too much moisture for too long? Ive got my birds nest in a specific fern soil and i have yet to repot the fluffy ruffle and does seem to be doing better. The soil isn’t wet but its been consistently moist. The plant itself is fine, but shes got the browning tips. I will try the other soil out i just thought misting more often was the likely issue. Im in wtx so its hot and dry here and I’ve yet to get humidifiers as i dont mind hand misting often through the day

I think mine is my Little Jewel succulent. So he was shipped to me from Amazon and when I was unwrapping him when a few leaves fell off. I was like this is fine and I named him Sirius. Then I realized that he wasn’t taking in water so I was rly confused. Then before I did anything about it my cat knocked him down!!! Lost more leaves. So later I had to sort out this soil problem. I got a bowl of water and removed the dirt. I put him into a little bigger pot. He started growing up and now he is so leggy!! I recently put him in a bigger pot and no change!! Just like someone said Sirius sits there and complains! 😒
