Can someone please help me identify this plant so that i can properly take care of it. Planta is saying that it is a jade plant but doesn’t specify what kind of jade. thank you!

It's unusual looking to me and I'm thinking it could be because it hasn't had the right care up to now? So I'd probably follow Planta's advice on jade plants and repot it into new succulent soil and treat it like any jade plant. As soon as it starts looking like it's supposed to look it'll be easier to identify the exact species. Kinda looks like maybe it's been over watered and over fed maybe? Not sure. It seems too compact and a little too much red to me. I'm by no means a jade expert but Interested to see what others might say.
2 likesAre those shriveled leaves soft and mushy or hard and dry? Soft and mushy might indicate overwatering and/or root rot, so you'll want to check the roots when you repot and remove any rotten ones. Good luck!!

those leaves are hard and dry. I have already repotted it. It was EXTREMELY dry. I potted it in the correct soil and watered it from the bottom that same day. It actually looks better than it did.

Looks like a jade that I have. The purple-ish leaves could be that it got cold. Cold temps change the color of succulent leaves.
