Can anyone help me identify this plant? Another app called it a golden penda but I just don’t think that’s correct, and the photos don’t really look alike. It’s very hardy, tolerates many different low to medium-high light locations indoors, but grows very quickly when in medium-high light. In the last 3-4 years it’s gone from about 6 inches tall to 2 feet. It seems happy to branch on its own without trimming. Thanks if you can help! 💚

Looks like a shoe button plant, like Ardisia humilis perhaps?

Ah yes! You might be right. The leaves are exact! The only difference is mine hasn’t bloomed but less concerned about that part of it.

Where'd you get it? It kinda looks like a baby lemon tree.

I got it at Home Depot. I threw away the tag forever ago but think I would have remembered if it listed lemon (I would be excited waiting for fruit)

Also shoebutton is an invasive plant and is wreaking havoc in florida wetlands so don't plant it outside. Personally if that's what it is I'd burn it. Don't put it in the yard waste.

I saw that too! I am keeping it indoors only and will not be putting it outside. Perhaps that’s part of why it’s thriving so much. If it does bloom I’ll probably put the berries down the disposal. I have a cat and don’t want to risk them falling and being a tempting toy for her (shoebutton is listed as toxic)
