Very beginner plant parent here… 😊🪴 Just gathered up some beautiful plants about a week-3 days ago to fill my balcony (which means I can’t plant into the ground). Sun starts hitting the space around 1:45pm until sunset. I input everything correctly onto the app here and am following, but a few of them already seem to be wilting/losing their petals on me… I always seem to run into this issue and can’t keep any alive! Any suggestions?

That is the hottest part of the day so maybe the sun is too intense. You might try to offer them some light shade until later in the afternoon. It’s a beautiful collection!

I was nervous that they weren’t getting enough! Lol no sun for the beginning of the day. I’d say if fully hits around 2:30 for all of them.

You probably know this already, but petals do fall off naturally 😅

I feel so stupid… but NO. I didn’t know that. I thought it meant it was dying!! Will they grow back? And how long?! Lol 🤣🤣

You have sun loving plants but that midday sun will definitely cause heat stress. I have a few suggestions.. Be sure to remove all the dead foliage from the base of the plant to prevent fungal issues at soil level and always deadhead spent blooms properly to prolong the cycle of your blooms as well as better air circulation. Maybe play around with your arrangement putting petunias and coreopsis at the front giving the others some shade. Try double potting by simply inserting your nursery pots into decorative pots to help retain moisture.

Do any of these need to be towards the front or more shaded? The left 2.
