I’m pretty new to propagating and I have a pothos cutting that has been sitting in water for a month now and has only grown one root. The root is at least 3 inches long. Should I report now or wait for more roots?

I would wait for more roots. Try giving it more light. That speeds up the process

Wait until the root has secondary roots! Even if it has one/two roots, they are nothing w/out secondary roots! Maybe pop another pothos cutting in there to help with the rooting!
