Any tips for "letting go" of plants? I've been really needing to slim down my collection but can't seem to let go of any of my babies. Maybe i just need some words of affirmation idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ Pictured below is my hoya nummularioides, an example of a plant child i've had for several years now, but should really find a new home for.

I have to fully vet people before giving them a plant. 😂 I go to their home and talk to their plants to find out what kind of plant parent they are. A few people have made the cut. Most haven’t. Which is why I need to stop buying plants or earn more money so I can buy a bigger home. 😂😂😂

I can commiserate. I am casting a critical eye on my collection right now trying to decide what can be off loaded. My metric is keep if it gives me joy or an heirloom plant. I recently gifted away a plant. I fretted over it’s care and it never looked great because my care wasn’t what it needed. The person that got it loves it, the plant looks better in their care, and I am happier and focus on more rewarding endeavors. Also deleting all the plants in the wishlist has helped curb my buying impulse. Good luck!

I’m moving in to my boyfriend’s apartment and moving all my plants is stressful and exhausting 🥲 I am finally accepting that it’s okay to give up on plants that have been struggling. I’ve also told myself that it’s okay not to keep every propagation and clipping. The adult plants that I have are lovely without constantly growing new mini-me versions. I’ve also told myself it’s okay to pick favorites and find new homes for plants that don’t excite me. It’s hard, but I’ll feel better when I’m not tripping over too many plant stands and trailing vines anymore lol
