Anyone know what’s happened here and how to save it? No idea what plant it is, label says “Sempervivum”

It is indeed Sempervivum, also called Hens and Chicks. I have one the started as a single mother Hen and planted it amongst rocks with soil underneath and it made it through an indoor New England winter (they are more of an outdoor plant). They need a lot of light. Some are capable of being planted in the ground and will come back each year even in my area!

I have had one for a while now. They grow very quickly and need to be repotted several times. Mines been repotted 3 times so far! They do need lots of light. Don’t worry if some of the stems look dead. Many look like that and is normal. They are beautiful succulents. I actually repotted mine from the pot in the picture today but that’s an idea of what they look like!
