Can anyone tell me what that long stick like stem is on my watermelon plant?

  1. Planty Things

It’s a flower, they sometimes recommend to cut them to redirect the plants energy to making more leaves since it’s not very pretty.

Would that also be true for my American rubber plant?

It wants to have babies! 🤭 Always freaks me out when I look over and notice a samurai sword coming out of my plant. 🤣 I've also noticed that once I get rid of the sword, I'll see so many new leaves. If your plant is trying to have babies, it's a good sign that it's happy and healthy enough to divert resources to reproduction. It's the sword of success! 🤣
