hello! was hoping for some help with my rex begonia, i got it a month or so ago and it was doing really well, removed a couple of older leaves and watered regularly, making sure the soil was dry on the top inch. it’s in bright indirect sunlight but after two days away, i came back to it looking rather sad. am i best to cut off all the stems and wait for new growth or is it properly dead… hoping i can revive it! any help would be appreciated :)

I’d probably say to much water, an inch down of dry soil isn’t enough to know if it’s truly dry. If you struggle with not knowing if it needs water try using some sort of thin stick to stick into the soil, when you remove the probe and it comes it clean it’s time to water if it has soil on it hold off on watering, also get to know the weight of the plant when it’s dry and then pick it up again after watering you will adapt to what it wants. Also for the foliage let the bits fully die off before removing, as it is in a critical state, leaving them on will let it take in that energy and push out new growth once it’s crispy and easily plucked off they can be removed. Hope this helps
