I’m looking at investing in a hydrometer for my high humidity requiring plants (especially for my Calatheas)! Is a room humidity monitor enough or should I use one specifically made for plants- one that goes into the soil? Also, are there any recommendations for the best one? The images I’ve included are pulled off of Amazon for context:)

I have several of the humidity thermometers you show on the right. Works great! Super helpful. Moisture meters are s good learning tool but they don’t last very long. They will eventually start giving you false readings. Just be careful.

Thank you for the input and insight! It’s always great hearing about what others do!

Wholeheartedly agree with Danika. The ones that go into the soil are so cheaply made and only by a few manufacturers, so most if not all are junk. Govee makes great hygrometers, and I bought their H5179 so I could set it up on my WiFi and get alerts whenever the humidity drops below a certain level. I barely have to think about it in the summer.

Thank you so much for the input! I was thinking a WiFi one could be really helpful especially in my dorm in the winter.

Another fun fact. If you have an apple home pod or home pod mini, they have humidity and temperature sensors in them too! You can access the info in the home app!
