Does anyone know what is growing from that leaf? I don’t think it’s a new leaf since one is already unfurling. There’s also a second one on another part of the plant. Are they aerial roots?

Yes that’s an aerial root

1 likeAreal roots are so cool. The plant is feeling strong so it wants to climb up and get all the sunbeams. If you place that plant next to a wall those roots will grab on and heave the plant up the wall! I have a few doing that now and I love it. It's like my plants and my house are becoming one 🤣. My husband hasn't asked me about it...and I haven't told him that if we wanna paint walls in the living room, we may have a few issues. 👌 He'll be so thrilled to learn I've been encouraging house plants to grow into our walls. 😎

It could be an aerial root or potentially a leaf that is coming in stuck. I’d leave it be and see what happens. If it’s brown, it’s a root. You can cut your plant under the root and make a new one.
0 likesThanks! I’ve done that with my pink syngonium and have had success, I just have never seen an aerial root come in before like that!
