Thoughts on my croton? I keep her indoors so I know she doesn’t get as much light as maybe she would like. I thought the lime coloring was a good thing, but then a friend said the leaves should have more color variation and now I’m all confused lol Can anyone help?

I’m pretty sure you will get a combination of solid green leaves and colorful leaves. Looks very healthy and happy so I wouldn’t mess with it too much. Maybe a grow light if you’re worried about the amount of sunlight it’s getting

I have it under a grow light for 4 hours until the sun is stronger on my side. Maybe I should turn up to 8

How much sun does it get once the sun is stronger? Is the sun directly hitting it or is it in a indirect spot?

I have a Croton magnificent and I keep it in a north facing window, where it doesn’t get a ton of light but I enjoy the leaves on it more than I do the variation of color. It just depends what look you want. If you want more color, place it in a brighter spot.

They also need humidity. Lots of humidity, and sun too!

I’ve been misting regularly after realizing it wasn’t getting as much humidity

Crotons are pains! But they do LOVE full sunlight. Mine was in a south facing bay window so direct sunlight. (I had to get rid of it when he got spider mites and didn’t feel happy any more with it)

Maybe keep it in the same place as long as it’s doing well, or try to move it a bit every day or two. I’ve read croton are finicky about being moved. Good luck!
