What’s the trick for moving a plant from propagating in water to soil? I seem to have mixed results.

I like the “roots had roots” take. Great measurement! I wait for the roots to get to an inch to two inches long and then transplant. I water immediately and keep it a little wetter than I normally would for the first week or two. Good luck!

Some people worry about soil not having enough air circulation after water rooting since water roots are so delicate. I recommend a soil heavily mixed with perlite. Or I have a friend who plants the roots into perlite, let’s them dry so they stick a bit and then into soil. She swears it helps with the roots not suffocating.

Transfer to well aerated soil. So a mix of regular indoor soil, some perlite (not a lot as it retains water), and some peat moss which helps with moisture control.

i use perlite or another semi hydroponic medium to get them used to the decreased oxygen levels and then i transfer to a well draining soil mix
