For those with sphagnum moss poles: when you water your poles, do you water both the pole and the soil? Just the pole and let it drain into the mix? Or simply ignore the mix and keep the pole moist? I’ve had a couple plants on poles for a bit now and not sure what’s best to encourage more rooting into it. Currently I’m just keeping the pole consistently moist and then when watering day comes, drenching the pole enough to also saturate the mix. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I use old plastic water bottles turned upside down to water the poles first. After the whole bottle drains I let it sit for an hour or so then check the soil to see if it needs more watering.

I put the whole plant, pot, pole and all in the shower and give it a nice rinse. Let the water drain through the drainage holes. Make sure you have chunky soil so the roots don’t rot. Cleans the leaves of any dust and waters the pole. :)
