Halp!! Does anyone know why my croton leaves have fallen off all the sudden? I moved it to a window that gets direct sunlight so maybe that was it? Don’t think I over watered, if anything I probably under. Is it salvageable?

I know some croton cultivars need higher humidity, but not sure if that’s as big a necessity with Petra. I will say, I have a Mammi and come to find out, it starts to drop leaves if the temperature drops to like mid-60s, which it was doing because I prefer to sleep in a cool room. I’ve since moved it to a warmer area. Perhaps one of these things is the issue here? It looks like it’s still relatively healthy, so if you correct the problem, it should eventually recover.

I keep my house around 68-69. And it was right next to a a vent so I bet you that’s what it was!! Do you know if it’ll grow back?

Had the same thing happen to mine, went from 7 leaves to 2 leaves in a day :( I accidentally let it get very dry between waterings, so that might be what happened to yours as well

You moved it. That’s what you did. Kinda like Calathea, they like to be left alone. If you have to change its environment, do so over the course of a month or more. More light, more water but incrementally

100% my croton always drops a few leaves if I move it to a new location. I keep it by my kitchen sink to water easily and it never moves.

I’ve heard this about Crotons, that they don’t like to be moved, and drop leaves easily. Good luck!

Throw those leaves in a prop box for a while. Add it to the pot.
