Hi everyone! For propagating plants in water, would a window with shade or a window with part sun & part shade be better in general? Picture is of my new pitcher plant, not what I’ll be propagating 😊

Idk which is better but when I do water propagates I sit them in a south or west-facing window. So I would say part sun&shade

All I would recommend is watering them with Distilled, reverse osmosis water, or rain water, because they don’t have salts calcium and minerals in them, salts calcium and other minerals can burn the roots. Also, only feed one pitcher at a time.

I would say depends on the plant!

So if I have a plant that requires shade to grow, should I put it in shade instead? And then same deal with the part-sun plants?

A great tip I read was also to do water propagate in a glass container that is green or brown instead of clear because it will be less likely or slower to grow algae!
