I recently got a monstera adansonii (first monstera owned) 2 days ago and I’ve been noticed water droplets forming in the leaves and stems. Are they sweating? I’ve also heard about guttation but I want to double check here. I haven’t watered it yet and the soil seems to still be pretty damp. Is this because of the sweat? Is it getting rid of excess water?

Yeah, so it’s usually an indication that it’s being overwatered. Monstera really like to weep if they’ve been overwatered. Adanonsii also get really fussy about new things so give it some time before you water it again

My philodendrons do that in really high humidity. I have a large collection so the humidity sometimes goes off the charts in the summer. Might be worth getting a hygrometer to check yours since humidity over 60% indoors can cause hazardous mold problems unfortunately
