Anybody have experience acclimating houseplants to 100 degree summers? We just finished this porch with a roof (no door yet) that faces west (below) and want to bring some of our indoor forest outside. We’re cautious to do so with most plants because Tucson summers are HOT. Any advice acclimating to heat and direct sun? Previously it was the ‘left to die’ porch, but my bambino apparently only thrives on hatred and disdain as she has given us a new leaf for the first time in 6 months. Good for her, but I’m cautious about her friends dying of heat stroke and sunburn. Any tips?

You could try hardening it off by gradually introducing it to the heat. But I’d stick with a cactus or other outdoor plants. I’d be concerned about the low humidity outside, as well.

I don’t think most houseplants wouldn’t be able to handle it, maybe just do spring & fall. Succulents would do good though, get a jade they’re the cutest!
