Hi! I recently bought this Manjula pothos off of Facebook marketplace and she was doing great, but I recently noticed that the top of the soil started to turn white. I scraped it off, but it came back again. I’m not sure what this is. Does anyone know what causes that and what I can do to prevent it?

It’s mold. Mix baking soda with water and spray it. I’ve read it helps. Usually it’s caused by poor air circulation but I’m not 100% sure

Do you have a closet picture? If it’s like, it could be caused by lack of airflow or by the plant remaining too wet between waterings. It also could not be mold and be mineral deposits on the substrate which happens over time and is part of why plants need to have water run through their pots from time to time in order to flush excess minerals and another reason for regular reports.

Looks like mold. I had a couple of my plants get the same thing. I repotted them with new soil and they seem better
