It’s a little hard to tell from this photo but the top of my moon cactus is browning. I know these guys take nutrients out of the graft but so far that part is healthy! I was just wondering if this guys is just actively dying or if there’s anything I can do to stop further browning. There is no water in the vase at the moment!

Maybe check the water in it to make sure it isn’t molding or anything, that’s all I got lol

You want to be careful when buying grafted cacti. Some of them, the tops are just glued on. You need to make sure that it is actually grafted onto the stem, and not glued. They also sell cacti that they glue flowers onto. When buying a cacti with flowers you need to make sure that you are buying one that is not glued with flowers, and that the bloom is genuine.

These are grafted cacti. The dragon fruit on the bottom feeds the cacti on top. I’ve always heard that the top part isn’t meant to live for long and sadly it doesn’t live without the dragon fruit. I took the pink part off mine and the bottom started growing immediately and quite fast! Maybe you’ve reached the end of the top cactus’s life cycle?

I’ve only ever seen the bottom part die though because of the top so I wasn’t sure if there was anything else wrong with it
