Weird sign of progress but this is the first dying leaf on my Calathea Freddie that has had the chance to actually turn yellow instead of immediately browning and crisping 🥲 We’re gettin somewhere!

Could be overwatering? Also Calatheas like distilled water. Not sure if this has anything to do with that, but tap water will lead to the crisping.

I gave up on this plant for a long while and recently decided to give it better care and it’s showing good signs :) Always use filtered water now and have stopped underwatering it!

Also just reread your post and misunderstood what you actually meant 🫠

LOL oh you’re so good I phrased it weirdly and it’s definitely not normal to be happy about a yellow leaf 🥴

It might be potassium deficiency, try making banana water with banana peels, and watering it with that water instead. I’m not sure how often that plant needs to be watered, but when you do, try that water instead.
