This seems to be a case of over watering. Planted it 3 days ago. Clay mix soil. Been watering daily, roughly 1-2 gallons per day. Thoughts? Can it be saved if I stop watering for a while.

ElinHow big hole did you dig and did you add any purchased soil to your clay soil?

That’s my current concern, as well. The hole was slightly bigger than the bulb of the tree. I am working with the landscaper to possibly have the guys make the hole bigger so I can add compost around the tree and some sand at the bottom. It’s a question of if he will eat that cost of labor. He ran into thick roots from a previous pine tree that was removed 6 months earlier. His guys threw in the towel and only made the hole big enough to plant the tree.
