Just wanted to introduce everyone to my 4 foot tall snake plant. It started off about 2 inches tall with just one leaf and I thought it was fake so it went about 6 months without water at first 😅

We had a giant one sitting in the dark in a cardboard box without water and it fell out of the pot and wasn’t in the soil, and then we forgot about it when we moved, for I think 2 - 3 months, and then we remembered, and I opened it up to put it back into the pot, and water it, and it was still alive and very healthy, and still huge. I think there were a few leaves that had died. But it overgrew the pot, and the parts that died helped to make more room, so I packed it back into the pot with the dirt, and added some more potting soil, and then I placed it 5 feet away from the window in my room, not in direct sunlight, but it still gets pretty bright in my room, and stood healthy and huge for a good two years, and had some new growth, until I decided to give it back to my mom to clear up space in my room, which I regret, because she put it in the garage and forgot about it, and then winter came and killed it. :( But at least I still have its baby growing in my room two feet from the window not in direct sunlight. Just wondering how to make it grow more leaves faster. I water it once a month, and it still looks healthy. I know they don’t need much water, and they are pretty resilient plants. So I’ve been adding a little more water in the last month, hoping it will grow more leaves. These plants are great for people that struggle with keeping their plants alive, because they are pretty much hard to kill because they are so resilient.

So I’ve had this plan for about 3 years. It’s been THROUGH it. 3 moves( one across the country), it’s been knocked out of its pot, and has never been fertilized. Personally I really saw good growth in it when I had it near a window that had bright mid day sun but was less the rest of the time and when I started bottom watering it and making sure the souls was COMPLETELY dry before watering it
