Heyyo plant people 😌 I’ve gotten conflicting information online about reviving dead ivy plants. My partner had/has an English Ivy start and it got skipped during a past watering cycle, it’s currently looking extremely dead and crispy. Is there any hope that it would come back from the root system?

Oh no, your English ivy doesn’t look happy at all! But you’re not alone. They are not easy to keep as houseplants. Especially not indoors. They actually prefer to be grown outdoors where they’ll get higher humidity, wind and temperature changes during the day. In your case I would recommend that you start with checking if the stems are still alive, or if they have shrivelled up. If they are alive you can remove the plants from the soil, or take cuttings and put them in water instead of soil. That will help them to get a more even amount of water and humidity. When they have grown a healthy root system you can transfer them to soil and then consider to grow your ivy’s outdoors instead. ā˜ŗļø

Just make sure you’re taking precautions to keep it from spreading. English Ivy can be threatening to ecosystems and other plants.

I agree with checking the root system to see if it’s viable. However, I have been growing my Ivy indoors for over a year now, it hangs in a window with lots of morning light and it’s doing great.

Mine did the same thing - and did not make it. So much conflicting information about easy house plants and I repotted, added extra drainage and it was not successful for me - always learning though
