i have a manjula pothos that only had one variegated leaf and it has since been replaced by all green leaves. i had her underneath one of my brightest grow lights since i first got her, which, usually gets me some really good variegation. nowadays she sits a few feet from a south facing window and receives medium light. i just want to be able to see her beautiful variegation again. google ai said to chop off all the green leaves but that’s literally all her leaves and i’m scared she wouldn’t make it. anybody have any tips for this seemingly impossible task?

Some plants lose their variegations due to unstable genes, sometimes there’s nothing you can do with that. Especially if you’ve tried different light, other plants have a different color when it’s in a warmer environment versus a colder environment, so you could maybe try playing with that. Is there a way you can cut off a node section with the variegated leaf and just do a prop without cutting off the rest of the leaves? She really is beautiful just plain green too!

general rule of thumb from a software engineer: don’t trust what google ai says about ANYTHING, it’s basically a random word generator in its current state. as a pothos owner: i think you’ll have to expose her to more light. my pothos used to be opaque green as well, six months ago i moved her so she’s sitting about a foot away from a north facing window. lots of color and new growth.

Are you sure this is a manjula? Leaf shape looks different. Kinda looks like a reverted golden pothos to me. Like others suggested, giving it more light would be your best chance at getting the variegation back.

this is what she looked like when i first got her, i have so many golden pothos so i dont think i mistaked her for a golden. i might put her in my south facing window because ive had other medium light plants be able to thrive there especially with all the other plants offering a little shade. thank you for the suggestions!
