   their roots are very shallow, they prefer wider pots. they're semi-succulent, so don't let them get bone dry, wait until 75% of the pot is dry or once it becomes noticeably lighter when you pick it up. they also like humidity but hate having wet turtles, get a humidifier or move it into a group of plants huddled together

     I believe they need a shallow wider pot. I bought one from a plant dealer and it hardly has roots but it is in a deep pot. Now that I read your comment, I am going to put it in a wider, shallow pot! Thank you

   They root so easily, you can just snip off one of the strings and partially plant them and it will root and thicken your turtle up. The second photo is the offspring of the first hanging turtle. I just took a couple strings, planted the middle part of each string and boom.
