*HELP* My monstera is in a HUGE pot, I’ve bought a 50cm pot for when she outgrows this one which is SOON. I think I’m going to need to saw off the bottom of the roots so that I can avoid having to try to find an even LARGER pot. I’m so scared though she’s my baby and I’m so worried that chopping off the roots will hurt her or even worse kill her. Does anybody have experience with doing root cuts to avoid upsizing? I’ve seen loads of people do it online but I’m so so anxious about it. Any advice or reassurance would be appreciated 🙏✨

My tactic to avoid repotting is that I've kept it in the same pot so that it doesn't want to grow much. I've also taken to hacking off excess limbs and given them to whoever wants them. Not sure if this is the route you want to take, but I'm throwing it out there as an option!

Tbh I don’t think I’d want to chop off limbs because I want her to get really big haha. It’s just I’ve seen people with monsteras that are like 6/7ft tall in pots smaller than I’ve got mine in haha.

I live in a condo, so my monstera getting over 4-5' wide takes up a bit too much precious real estate!

Yeah that makes sense 😂 I live in a studio flat which really isn’t big at all but I want to feel like I’m in a rainforest

Ya you might just need to repot if you want it to get huge
